U-Gas to Appeal to Kirkwood City Council After Opposition From Planning Commission
After being denied a special use exception permit for a station and convenience store at 915 North Kirkwood Rd., a lawyer representing U-Gas says the company will ask the Kirkwood City Council for a public hearing.
U-Gas plans to appeal to the Kirkwood City Council after the Kirkwood Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously denied the company's request for a special use exception permit for a gas station and convenience store at 915 North Kirkwood Rd. last week.
U-Gas Attorney John King told Kirkwood Patch the news Monday. He said the company has a call into Kirkwood City Hall to determine a date for a public hearing.
After a public hearing, members of the Kirkwood City Council can vote whether to approve the development regardless of the Planning and Zoning Commission's recommendation.

Concerned over the impact the station would have on nearby homes, residents packed City Hall last Wednesday and applauded the decision of members of the Kirkwood Planning and Zoning Commission to deny the development.
