Work Underway on Sugar Creek Playground

Installation of a new playground at Sugar Creek Park in Des Peres kicked off Monday with a grand opening planned for early April.

The City of Des Peres says the installation of a new nature-themed playground will make Sugar Creek a unique destination park for kids in the area.

Work on the playground, which will be ADA accessible for all kids, kicked off Monday with a grand opening scheduled for April 7. A drawing and site plans for the playground can be found on the city's website. Funding for new equipment and surfacing comes from the St. Louis County Municipal Park Grant Commission.

During construction, part of the park path and the Dougherty Ferry entrance will be closed. Visitors should use the Des Peres Road entrance. The restrooms and path will be available, but park goers will not be able to make a complete loop on the pavement, the city says.
