All Student Transfers Have Been Placed, CSD Says

Final numbers have not yet been released, but Cooperating School Districts said all students requesting transfers are placed for the school year.

A week after the Aug. 1 application deadline, Cooperating School Districts said all student transfers have been placed for the 2013-2014 school year.

With Normandy and Riverview Gardens schools selecting other school districts as options for students wanting to attend an accredited district, roughly 2,600 students had applied for a transfer option.

Kirkwood was chosen by Riverview Gardens as a second option for students who wish to transfer from Riverview to an accredited school district. Mehlville School District was previously named by Riverview. Riverview said they would provide transportation for students to Kirkwood schools, but Kirkwood evaluated they would only have space for an additional 175 transfers.

CSD said in an email Friday that all students have been placed in a school district for the coming school year, or have opted to stay in their home district. Final numbers have not been released as of Friday afternoon.
