Kirkwood Point Guard Joins Lady Archers

St. Louis Community College adds Kalah Martin to its roster.

senior Kalah Martin will continue to prove her skills on the basketball court as a member of the St. Louis Community College Archers in the 2012-2013 season.

The standout point guard was one of the first two additions to the women's basketball team that's coming off a 20-win season.

Leading all Kirkwood guards with 3.3 rebounds per contest and averaging 7.5 points per game, Martin was a key player last season for the Pioneers who captured the Suburban South conference title. Martin was named second-team all-conference in the Suburban South.

The other addition to the Archers' roster is Cahokia senior guard Diamond Suggs.

Return guards for the Archers include Cierra Gaines (Edwardsville), Datona Ball (Quincy) and Shakaunna Futrell (Hazelwood West), who all averaged double figures in scoring during the 2011-2012 season, averaging a combined 37 points per game, STLCC says in a statement.
