Kirkwood Seventh Grader to Compete for State Geography Title

The National Geographic Society notified Matthew Conroy, a seventh-grade student at , that he is one of the semifinalists to compete in the 2012 Missouri Geography Bee, sponsored by Google and Plum Creek. Matthew will compete in the State Geography Bee to be held at the University of Missouri in Columbia March 30.

He is among the 100 Missouri students in grades 4-8 who were invited to compete at the state level. The state winner will receive $100, the Complete National Geographic on DVD, and a trip to Washington, D.C., to represent Missouri in the national finals in May.
