Mayor to Young Students: 'Write to Officials; Get Involved'

Mayor Art McDonnell shared his experiences of growing up in Kirkwood with students at Westchester Elementary Wednesday.

, Kirkwood Mayor Art McDonnell mayor shared stories about his days as a kid in Kirkwood riding his horse around town and being a student at . He also encouraged students to write their local and state officials on matters that were important to them and to get involved.

When asked by a student why he became mayor, McDonnell said, “I like my community and wanted to give back to my community. No matter what you do, do something and make your community better.”

After posing for group pictures with students, McDonnell ended his visit by telling the students to “feel free to call me or write me.”
