Pioneers Break School Rushing Records in U. City Trouncing

Visiting Kirkwood defeated the Lions 63-28 Friday to improve to 6-0.

It took a quarter to find its footing against the University City  Lions Friday night. Once they did, however, there was nothing that could stop the Pioneers from running into the end zone again and again.

Early in the game, Kirkwood turned over the ball twice which gave the Lions a 7-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.

But then came junior running back Ramon Alton who would rush for a total of 238 yards.

On the first play of the second quarter, Alton carried the ball 26 yards for a touchdown and would score again before halftime with nine of 11 rushes resulting in first downs for the Pioneers.
