Project IDEA Officially Presented to Parents at Keysor

Bryan Painter, Principal of Keysor Elementary School in Kirkwood, presented to parents and school officials Project IDEA, a landscape for learning.

Last Friday, in front of parents, teachers, administrators, city officials and hundreds of students, Bryan Painter, principal of , unveiled Project IDEA, a large interactive playground to be built on the school sometime in June.

The project started four years ago when members of Keysor's Parent Teacher Organization got together to discuss improvements to the existing playground. Painter said the project grew as parents got more and more involved and volunteered "to make it something really extraordinary," he said.

Painter said the cost of the project could be up to $400,000. Although about two thirds of the money needed for phase 1 have been raised, Painter said there is still money needed to complete the project by the time the next school year starts in August.
