USA Today Poll Shows Kirkwood vs. Webster Trailing in Rivalry Competition

Fans of Pioneer and Statesmen football will have to step it up in order for the Turkey Day Game to move on in a competition to determine the best high school football rivalry in the nation.

The Turkey Day Game rivalry between the Pioneers and Statesmen is trailing in a USA Today poll that aims to determine the best high school football rivalry in the country.

As previously reported by Patch, voting for rivalries at the state level began Nov. 19 and ends Dec. 3. As of Monday evening, the rivalry between Brookfield vs. Marceline high schools had captured 62 percent of votes, making it the front-runner in the competition between Missouri rivalries.

Kirkwood vs. Webster is in second place with 38 percent of votes and Hickman vs. Jefferson City brings up the rear with 1 percent.

After Dec. 3, voting continues on a regional and then national level with schools from the top rivalry receiving $10,000 to split between athletic departments. Readers can vote as many times as they want in the poll. CLICK HERE TO VOTE!
