The Golden Griffins' hot streak continues with four consecutive wins.

After suffering their , the Golden Griffins now find themselves on a hot streak that continued last night with a 7-0 win over the Statesmen in the CYC Tournament.

The shutout follows a string of victories for as they went 3-0 last week with wins over Waterloo Gibault (5-0), Pattonville (5-0) and a huge 2-1 win over Oakville Saturday.

Mark Segbers led Vianney (6-1-2) with a goal and two assists, while Jason Hackett and Adam Michel each tallied a goal and assist in the win over Gibault. Connor Sparrow and Tony Hartman shared the shutout, with Sparrow playing the first 60 minutes of the match.

Against Pattonville, Ryan Murphy led the way with two goals and an assist. Jason Hackett added a goal and an assist, while Michel and Segbers added goals. Sparrow and Michael Allen shared the shutout.

Against Oakville, Segbers added a first-half goal, his third in as many matches, but the Tigers got the equalizer in the second half before the Golden Griffins won in penalty kicks. Segbers now has six goals and three assists on the season.

CYC Tournament

The 57th annual CYC/Bob Guelker Memorial Tournament kicked off Monday and is represented by four of the five Metro Catholic Conference teams.

CBC, Chaminade, Vianney and SLUH are all in the field.

This year's field includes 34 teams in three divisions. All three divisions will feature a World Cup format, the first of its kind ever in the tournament. The finals will be played Saturday at the Anheuser-Busch Center in Fenton.

Last year, Oakville bested Chaminade, SLUH and CBC -- all by one-goal -- to win the title in the Msgr. Louis Meyer Division.

The Meyer Division and its pools are as follows:

Pool A: Kirkwood, Oakville, SLUH, St. Dominic

Pool B: CBC, Lindbergh, Rock Bridge, Trinity

Pool C: O'Fallon, St. Mary’s, Vianney, Webster Groves

Pool D: Chaminade, Duchesne, Francis Howell Central, Mehlville
