Hot Start Carries Kirkwood to Huge Road Win at Parkway Central

The Pioneers score early and often in a 40-21 win over the Colts. Kirkwood improves to 5-0.

CHESTERFIELD—Behind a flurry of big plays on offense and sheer dominance on defense, the Kirkwood Pioneers earned a convincing 40-21 win over Suburban South Conference rival Parkway Central on Friday night.

The game at PCH Stadium was a matchup of the No. 4 and No. 5-ranked teams in Missouri Class 5.

Fourth-ranked Kirkwood scored five rushing touchdowns, and recovered a blocked punt in Parkway Central’s end zone for another score. The Pioneers led 20-0 at halftime, 27-0 early in the third quarter, and 33-7 at the end of three quarters.

Parkway Central got its scores on short touchdown runs by Cole Gorman and Alan Gasanli, and a 35-yard touchdown pass from Gorman to star wide receiver Brandon Sheperd.
