Breakfast with Santa at The Magic House

A look at holiday planning and tradition making at The Magic House. Plus details on The Magic House Breakfast with Santa event on December 2, 2012.

It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is already upon us!  It seems like we  were just battling the heat of the summer and yet Christmas is less than 2 months away!  Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t forgotten about Thanksgiving, but with a former retail background and a love of Christmas music I say let the holiday madness begin!  I can’t wait for my son to see the Christmas lights on houses and giant decorated trees this year.  Now that I am a mom I find that it’s possible to get even more excited for holidays as I plan gifts, holiday parties and new family traditions.

And speaking of holiday traditions, we know that there are several schools and attractions that host events around town to get you in the spirit of the holidays, but personally (not biased at all of course…) I am excited to bring my son to The Magic House this holiday season.  Being that the house is over 100 years old, the Victorian home converted to Children’s Museum, lends itself to beautiful and whimsical holiday décor.

One of our most fun holiday events is Breakfast with Santa on December 2.  Last year we took my son to my nephew’s school Breakfast with Santa. It was in a crowded elementary cafeteria with a breakfast of (cold) McDonald’s pancakes and a fight for a seat.  Plus it boasted a quite long line to see Santa. You can see from the photo how Roman felt about the day.

This year we are excited to attend The Magic House Breakfast with Santa with benefits including reserved seating, warm pancakes – and not just plain old pancakes but ones that are literally flipped onto your plate by a pancake flipper extraordinaire.  The Magic House even offers 4 different times for breakfast, including a 5pm ‘breakfast for dinner’ option for busy schedules.  The day includes a photo with Santa and Mrs. Clause (hopefully of your child smiling not screaming), playtime at the museum, a holiday craft and of course breakfast!  To get full details and to make a reservation visit our website at www.magicouse.or/reservations or call us at 314-822-8900.

We want to help you make this time of year magical for your family!  Do any of you have a holiday tradition that includes The Magic House? What are your family traditions?
