Celebrate the work of Dr. Seuss at The Magic House!

The Magic House and The Nine Network host Dr. Seuss' Birthday Bash March 2 and 3, 2013!

One of the first books I bought my son, before he was even born, was Dr. Seuss’ There’s A Wocket in My Pocket.  I‘ve always been a Dr. Seuss fan and I wanted my son to grow up with those wacky characters and rhyming stories. Seuss’ collection has so many wonderful classics that I know kids around the world are enjoying – Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and many, many more!

To celebrate these classics The Nine Network and The Magic House are teaming up to host Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Bash this weekend!  Seuss would have celebrated his 109th birthday on Saturday, so in celebration on March 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., fans of Dr. Seuss can put on their Bar-ba-loot suits, stick a Wocket in their pockets, hop on pop and make a stop at The Magic House for a good time!  There will be special book readings by local performers from their favorite Dr. Seuss books, kids can make their very own Dr. Seuss hat and even watch episodes of the PBS show The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! Plus, bring your camera and take a picture with silly Dr. Seuss props and The Cat in the Hat!

With a paid adult admission, children 11 and under who bring in a new Dr. Seuss book ($5 minimum value) to be donated to First Book, an organization that distributes new books to children in need, will receive free museum admission during the Dr. Seuss weekend event.
