The Magic House to Provide Magical Experience for Child Battling Cancer

The Magic House hosts 6 year old battling lymphoma and is looking for other area businesses interested in sharing special gifts to help make the child's day special.

The Magic House’s mission is to engage all children in hands-on learning experiences that encourage experimentation, creativity and the development of problem solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic.  In addition to the thousands of families we see throughout the year, in 2012 we have also been able to provide free field trips to over 30,000 underserved students in our community, to bring hands-on educational programs to over 14,000 students in disadvantaged schools free of charge and to work with numerous libraries, hospitals, youth organizations and school districts to create free programming to fit their needs.  Being able to assist all of these children is what fuels so many on our staff to continue to work hard each day.

But even with the ability to serve so many wonderful children, there are some stories that stand out and make us even more proud to be able to make such a profound impact on the lives of these children.  Recently our Business Manager was contacted by a volunteer at an organization called the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation based out of Chicago.  A 6 year old little girl from Chicago, who is bravely battling lymphoma, wants to re-visit The Magic House with her family. They had visited before she had become ill and she has not stopped talking about her experience since the last visit!

We are honored to host this special little girl and her family at The Magic House very soon and were thrilled at the chance to help make her second experience just as magical as the first! We understand that The Hilton St. Louis Downtown is also covering the fees for her family to stay in St. Louis.  If you or your business have any items that you would like to share with this special little girl during her visit to St. Louis, something that you think will help make her day, please feel free to contact us at info@magichouse.org!
