Giant Garage Sale Set to Benefit Haiti Orphans
The 32-year tradition moves to St. Clement in Des Peres this year. The preview sale is today.

Jane Corbett began a garage sale in her Shrewsbury yard decades ago to support orphans in Haiti.
Now, after 32 years of sales, it’s at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 1510 Bopp Road, Des Peres, 63131, and spreads throughout the church. All profits go to an orphanage for disabled children.

Close to 500 of the parishioners have gone to serve in the orphanage and hospitals for the children.
The sale is open for a preview (for $5) Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., then runs Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to – 1 p.m.

After 1 p.m. on Saturday they need helpers to get the leftovers to charity, but most importantly they need shoppers, Corbett said.
