Senior Dogs 4 Seniors does however take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. The organization does home visits and ask for a $200 adoption donation for adult dogs and $300 for puppies.

Meet Heidi

Heidi is a 6-year-old miniature dachshund available for adoption through the St. Louis Senior Dog Project.

Heidi was found as a stray along with her gal pal Greta and ended up in animal control. Both Heidi and Greta were running out time but were rescued when their foster mom got them out. Heidi is now enjoying the snuggles and pets of everyone and is ready for a real home.

Heidi is a true miniature at only six pounds! However, like all mini dachshunds, she has a big personality, and she is active and inquisitive. Heidi does well around other small dogs; she has not had the chance to interact with bigger dogs.

Her foster mom indicates that she will not do well around cats or around other small furry pets like ferrets. Heidi would prefer a home with only older children/teenagers around and a home without a lot of coming and going. She is a very laid back gal that enjoys quiet time.

If you would like to meet Heidi and other adoptable pets, stop by the this weekend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday or Sunday.

Thank you to the St. Louis Senior Dog Project for telling our readers about Heidi.
