Senior Dogs Seek Forever Homes

Meet Megan and Sue at the Kirkwood Petco this weekend.

Meet Megan

Megan is an 11-year-old female Shih Tzu (59 in human years) who came to Senior Dogs 4 Seniors because her owner passed away. She weights about 16 pounds.

Sue is used to being the queen of the home. She is very friendly, but is used to having things her way. She isn't a big cuddler except for when she wants too. She will let you know. However she would make a wonderful companion because she likes to be beside you, she likes to go on walks, take drives in the car and she even still likes to play.

She sleeps at the head of her foster mom's bed every night and will wake you if she needs to go outside or hears something strange. She doesn't act 11 at all. She is in very good health for her age. If you are interested in becoming Megan's forever companion, please give us a call or send us an email.

Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. We do home visits and ask for a $200 adoption donation for adult dogs and $300 for puppies.

We are at the every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thank you to Senior Dogs 4 Seniors for telling us about Megan.

Meet Sue

Sue is a 5-year-old Poodle mix available for adoption through the St. Louis Senior Dog Project.

This little 7-pound cutie came to the group from a breeding facility that closed down and fortunately relinquished their dogs to rescue groups. Sue's coat was so matted that she had to undergo the dog version of extreme makeover and get it cut short. She is feeling a lot better now and she will be looking cuter than ever with her new coat. Sue is ready to be a pet and greatly enjoys siting on a lap and being loved. She would make a great companion for a senior citizen.

If you would like to meet Sue or our other senior and not-so-senior dogs please stop by the this weekend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday or Sunday.

Our fall donation drive is still going on strong. Donate and be entered to win an autographed Albert Pujol's baseball. Details about how to donate and enter the raffle can be found here.

Thank you to the St. Louis Senior Dog Project for telling us about Sue.
