The land for this park was NOT donated by the Monfort family.
It was PURCHASED by the City of Kirkwood for $407K+ from the Monfort heirs (this does not include the cost or razing the house and building the park).
The current mayor of Kirkwood was a council member at the time and is a relative of the family.
