Emily Nicole Ferguson, a 2011 graduate of Kirkwood High School and sophomore at Mizzou, died Friday in an accident on Interstate 70.
A funeral service is set for Emily Nicole Ferguson, 19, of Kirkwood. Ferguson died Friday while driving the wrong way on Interstate 70. She was a sophomore at the University of Missouri-Columbia and 2011 graduate of Kirkwood High School. Ferguson's funeral service is scheduled for Dec. 16, 7 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in University City, with a private interment, according to Bopp Chapel. The church is located at 7148 Forsyth Blvd. As of Monday, an obituary had not been posted to Legacy.com. The only information posted under the obituary section on Bopp Chapel's website is that Ferguson died suddenly Friday and was 19. Condolences can be left on Bopp Chapel's website. RELATED CONTENT:

Kirkwood police tracked down a driver who allegedly fled after an accident that resulted in injuries.
A man involved in an accident that put a driver in the hospital couldn't escape Kirkwood police despite his efforts. Kirkwood police officers were dispatched to the 11200 block of Manchester Road for a motor vehicle accident with injuries last Wednesday at 5:50 a.m. Officers found one adult driver injured who was later transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other driver fled the area on foot, according to police. Officers located the driver a few blocks away and arrested him for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

The Kirkwood Call reported Saturday that Ferguson was a 2011 graduate of KHS. Emily N. Ferguson, 19, of Kirkwood, died at the scene of the crash that happened at 3:17 a.m. near Kingdom City, MO, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Ferguson was driving west in the eastbound lanes of I-70 and struck a box truck, according to the Post. Frances Winker was driving westbound on Interstate 44 when she traveled off the left side of the highway and struck the medial wall. The car then reentered the roadway, traveled across I-44 and struck a rock bluff before overturning.
A 49-year-old St. Louis woman is dead from a car accident on Interstate 44 just outside of Kirkwood city limits on Thursday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Frances Winker was driving westbound on Interstate 44, just east of Holmes Avenue, when she traveled off the left side of the highway and struck the median wall. The car then reentered the roadway, traveled across I-44 and struck a rock bluff before overturning. Winker was taken to Mercy Hospitl in Creve Coeur by a Kirkwood ambulance but was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly before 6 p.m. Winker's car, a 2000 Ford Expedition, was totaled. According to the highway patrol, she was not wearing a seat belt.

Preliminary investigation shows that a three-car wreck in Kirkwood this morning was caused by drivers following too close.
Two people were taken to a local hospital after three cars collided on I-270 in Kirkwood this morning which created major backup along the interstate. Three cars traveling in the same lane were involved in a rear end collision, according to Det. Dave Smith, of the Kirkwood Police Department. The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-270 at Big Bend Road, KMOV reports. Preliminary investigation into the accident indicates that two of the vehicles in the accident were following too close, Smith told Patch Friday. Two occupants of the third vehicle in the accident were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to Smith. PREVIOUS STORY:

Witness information and coordination with St. Louis City police led to the arrest of a driver who allegedly fled after striking a school bus on Interstate 44 in Oakland.
Kirkwood police were able to locate a suspect in an accident involving a school bus carrying 12 children between the ages of 6 and 10 thanks to a witness and help from St. Louis City police. A vehicle reportedly struck the school bus on westbound Interstate 44 near South Berry Road in Oakland at around 8:30 a.m. last Thursday and then left the scene. Kirkwood police later located and arrested a driver who allegedly struck an occupied school bus on Interstate 44.
An accident involving an occupied school bus on Interstate 44 in Oakland did not result in any injuries but did lead to an arrest. At 12:01 p.m. Thursday, Kirkwood police received a report of a motor vehicle accident involving an occupied school bus on westbound I-44 near South Berry Road, according to the Kirkwood Police Department. Police say the vehicle that struck the bus fled the scene of the accident before officers arrived. Police later located the driver and arrested her for leaving the scene of an accident.
