Yorkie Who Loves to Snuggle Needs Home

Meet Chase at the Kirkwood Petco this weekend.

Meet Chase Chase is a very handsome yorkie who is six years old. He is a happy boy who plays with toys and loves to snuggle with his people. He is very calm and well behaved. Chase has spent his entire life in a breeding facility and now deserves lots to TLC and his own forever home. Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. We do home visits and ask for a $200 adoption donation for adult dogs and $300 for puppies.  We are at the Kirkwood Petco every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit Senior Dogs 4 Seniors.  Thank you to Senior Dogs 4 Seniors for introducing us to Chase.

4 Dogs Need Foster Homes

Four senior dogs are looking for foster families before they find permanent homes.

Meet Penny, Bonnie, Clyde and Tim, four wonderful dogs looking for foster homes in the St. Louis metro area. The former owner of these four pooches had to move in to a nursing home as he could no longer take care of himself and his four dogs. This quartet received and gave tons of love to their former owner but they are now in desperate need of a foster home. The St. Louis Senior Dog Project took custody of them after the owner's daughter approached the organization; she lives in Ohio and needed help. Our current foster homes are completely full and these four dogs are currently being boarded. We would like for them to go as soon as possible to a home so that they continue to feel loved and they begin to get used to the recent changes in …

Senior Greyhound Has Love to Give

Meet Yogi at the Kirkwood Petco Saturday.

Yogi is a wonderful 10-year-old greyhound mix who loves his people and just wants to be near them. He is totally potty trained and is well behaved in the house and does not get on the furniture. He is a healthy dog and would make a great companion. If you are seated, he will come over to you and lay his head in your lap to get some petting. Then he will lay down and relax at your feet. Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. Big, Little Senior Dogs Need Homes

Meet Jazz and Hunny at the Kirkwood Petco this weekend.

Jazz Meet Jazz, a female 10-year-old Labrador Retriever mix available for adoption with the St. Louis Senior Dog Project. Jazz's former owner unfortunately had to go live to a nursing home, and Jazz ended up with no one to care for her and was relinquished to a shelter in Illinois. It was a big shock for Jazz to go from a home to a shelter and she quickly became depressed and lonely in the shelter environment. Thankfully, through the help of David Backes, of the St. Louis Blues, and his wife, Kelly, she was able to leave the shelter and join the ranks of dogs living in loving foster homes with the St. Louis Senior Dog Project. David and Kelly sponsored the vet care and other expenses for Jazz. Jazz is enjoying her stay at her foster home …

Dooley's Looking for Love

This 5-year-old Shar Pei/Shepherd mix is an adorable companion who gets along with other dogs.

Dooley is a 5-year-old Shar Pei/Shepherd mix who is available for adoption with the St. Louis Senior Dog Project. Dooley came to our group suffering from skin conditions due to flea allergies and general neglect. His foster mom found him at a local animal control and he joined the ranks of St. Louis Senior Dog Project pets waiting for a second chance. He was a little on the skinny side but has now gained weight and his hair has also grown back! Dooley is a well-mannered pooch that knows how to sit and stay. He gets along with other dogs very well but will probably need a home without cats. Dooley is neutered, up to date with shots, microchipped and heart-worm tested. You can check out more pictures and updates of him on his Petfinder page…
