The petitioner of the development, Greg Anderson of Ozark Custard LLC, plans demolish the former Long John Silver’s Restaurant building at 311 South Kirkwood Rd. to build the new Andy’s Frozen Custard. The building has been vacant since 2006. The new, 1600 square feet store will employ approximately 25 people, mostly part-time positions, according to a planning and zoning report. Downtown Kirkwood's shopping district could see an Andy's Frozen Custard in the coming months. The popular dessert chain is asking the City of Kirkwood for a special use exception permit to open a restaurant with a drive thru at 311 South Kirkwood Rd., next to Grapevine Wines & Cheese and across the street from Culpeppers Grill and Bar.
