Handsome Cockapoo Needs Home

Meet Chuckie, an 8-year-old cockapoo available for adoption through Senior Dogs 4 Seniors.

Chuckie is a very handsome 8-year-old cockapoo. He was surrendered to the St. Louis County Animal Control because he was not good with the owner's grandchildren. He is well behaved in the house and sleeps quietly all night on the floor in the bedroom. Chuckie just needs his own forever home without kids and he will be a fantastic companion. Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. We do home visits and ask for a $200 adoption donation for adult dogs and $300 for puppies.  We are at the Kirkwood Petco every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will also be at the APA Canine Carnival Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at …

Shihapoo Available for Adoption

Meet Toby at the Kirkwood Petco Saturday.

Meet Toby Toby is an adorable 7 year old shihapoo (44 years old in human years). He is a nice little boy but is a little shy with people and is doing well in learning how to be a pet. He sleeps quietly all night on a dog bed in the bedroom and goes outside and comes in when asked. We wanted to trim the hair around his eyes for better photos but he definitely hates anything related to grooming so we will leave that to the professionals.   Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. We do home visits and ask for a $200 adoption donation for adult dogs and $300 for puppies.  We are at the Kirkwood Petco every Saturday …

Lap Dog 'Little Lady' Available for Adoption

"Little Lady" is available for adoption through Senior Dogs 4 Seniors. Meet her at the Kirkwood Petco this weekend.

Meet "Little Lady" "Little Lady" had three puppies and she is the sweetest little lady (hence her name). She just loves to be held and given attention, whether it's being brushed or just petted she is happy to be with you. We believe she is around 7 years old, but we can't be certain. She does have one bad eye but it doesn't cause her any problems. If you want a little lap doll she is it! She is quiet and friendly and she loves to lay on the air conditioner vent (guess that's where the babies learned it from)! She is learning to potty outside and does very well with a regular schedule.  Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people …

Black Lab, Toy Poodle Have Love to Give

Dolly and Juliette are looking for forever homes. Meet these senior dogs at the Kirkwood Petco this weekend.

Meet Dolly Dolly is a black labrador retriever available for adoption through the St. Louis Senior Dog Project. Dolly is a senior gal at 8 years old and she seems proud of her years and of the grey in her muzzle! She has a gentle face and an equally gentle personality. She gets along fine with all humans including children and also with other dogs, however Dolly is not fond of cats and she would have to go to a home with no felines around. Dolly knows several commands such as sit, stay and come. She also is housebroken. This wonderful lady still has a lot to offer and would love a new family. She has plenty of love to go around! If you would like to meet Dolly and other adoptable pets please stop by the Kirkwood Petco this Saturday and …

Border Collie, Bichon Frise Need Forever Homes

Meet these two loving companions in search of permanent homes at the Kirkwood Petco this weekend.

Sheba is an 8-year-old female Border Collie available for adoption through the St. Louis Senior Dog Project. Sheba's previous owners got hit hard by the economy and lost their home, so this senior lady found herself without a place to go. Sheba is a bright pooch that understands basic commands. Border Collies are generally energetic dogs, and, although she is older, Sheba remains an active, energetic dog. Sheba is good with children, other dogs, small animals and all humans alike, she would make a great addition to any household. Sheba is house trained and crate trained but she will need some extra training to learn better leash-walking manners. If you would like to meet Sheba or other adoptable senior and not so senior dogs, stop by the…

Senior Shepherd Needs TLC

Meet Prudie at the Kirkwood Petco Saturday.

Information provided by Senior Dogs 4 Seniors. Prudie is a beautiful ten year old German Shepherd that is looking for a home through Senior Dogs 4 Seniors. This wonderful senior German Shepherd came to us through another rescue group after a police raid in Jefferson County where 18 German Shepherds were removed from living in squallor in a backyard. Prudie is absolutely incredible! She is fully house trained. We've found Prudie has a number of chronic medical problems she'll have to contend with for the remainder of her life. She has hip dysplasia with knee and hip arthritis and has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Due to her hip and knee problems she takes daily medication twice a day and sleeps on an orthopoedic bed for her weary body…
