Police are investigating a report of approximately $30,000 in stolen jewelry, plus electronics are stolen after a window is forced open on another home.

April 1: At 8:45 a.m., police were called for a burglary in the 100 block of West RosehillAvenue. The resident said a bowl containing approximately $150 in change was stolen while he was out of town over the previous weekend. April 5: At 2:20 p.m., police were called to the 11000 block of Big Bend Road for a report of stolen jewelry. Approximately $30,000 worth of jewelry was missing from the residence. Des Peres police are alerting residents to overnight thefts from cars and reminding them to lock all doors.
Des Peres police sent out an alert to residents Tuesday making them aware of overnight thefts from cars in a nearby city. One victim also reported a suspicious dark vehicle in the area at the time of one of the crimes. Residents are reminded to lock their car doors. Following is the email alert sent out by police Tuesday. Our office was again notified, by a nearby agency, of thefts from motor vehicles that had occurred during the overnight hours. One of the victims described a possible suspicious vehicle as a black four door passenger vehicle leaving the area at the time of incident. Police point out that they have not had a rash of recent activity to prompt the warning, but there have been reports of car thefts and damage in nearby cities.
