Copper Stolen from Home on Wildwood Lane

Another update on local crime from the Kirkwood Police Department.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Thursday, Feb. 26: At 12:00 p.m., police were called to a home on Wildwood Lane for a burglary. The residence is in foreclosure and real estate agents told police they found copper pipes missing from the home. There were no signs of forced entry, police stated. Kirkwood Police Investigating Jewelry Thefts

Kirkwood police are investigating after recent reports of jewelry being stolen from homes.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Monday, Feb. 18: At 10:17 a.m., a resident from the 800 block of Delchester Lane reported three missing rings. Police stated the rings are believed to have been stolen sometime in January and there was no forced entry to the home. Tuesday, Feb. 19: At 3:19 p.m., a resident from the 600 block of Villa Gardens Drive reported a missing anniversary ring. Police said the resident actually notice the jewelry was missing from home approximately two weeks before filing the police report. There was no forced entry into the residence. Kirkwood Resident Returns Home to Reported Burglary in Progress

Kirkwood police are investigating after a resident returned home to hear the dog barking and footsteps in the basement.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Monday, Feb. 11: At 3:15 p.m., officers were called to the 500 block of West Essex Avenue for a possible burglary in progress. Investigators said a resident returned home to find the front door unlocked and the family dog barking in the basement. The resident the reportedly retreated into a bedroom, heard footsteps from the basement and then heard the front door slam shut. The resident called police and it was determined that nothing was stolen. Authorities are still investigating. Thieves Target Kirkwood Businesses

Kirkwood police make arrests in one case and are searching for suspects in another, after thieves target local businesses.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Saturday, Feb. 9: At 7:59 a.m., police were called after a business in the 600 block of Leffingwell was burglarized. A back door was broken through and a portable generator and tools were reportedly stolen. Monday, Feb. 4 - Sunday, Feb. 11: Four adults were arrested in two separate incidents of shoplifting from a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road during the week. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Jan. 27:  A wallet was returned to its rightful owner afer a resident of the 100 block of Parkland Avenue found the wallet while walking in the 100 block of Trevillian.  Jan. 28:  At 9:01 a.m., warrants were issued by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charging Jeffrey S. Kelly, 30, of the 9100 block of Lemona, Affton, Missouri, with Felony Driving While Intoxicated – Aggravated Offender and Driving While Suspended or Revoked, after his arrest on June 9, 2012 in the 700 block of Bismark Avenue.  Bond was set at $30,000. CRIME ALERT: Suspicious Vehicle, Thefts From Cars Reported

Des Peres police are alerting residents to overnight thefts from cars and reminding them to lock all doors.

Des Peres police sent out an alert to residents Tuesday making them aware of overnight thefts from cars in a nearby city. One victim also reported a suspicious dark vehicle in the area at the time of one of the crimes. Residents are reminded to lock their car doors. Following is the email alert sent out by police Tuesday. Our office was again notified, by a nearby agency, of thefts from motor vehicles that had occurred during the overnight hours. One of the victims described a possible suspicious vehicle as a black four door passenger vehicle leaving the area at the time of incident. More Than $1,000 in Bogus Charges Made on Kirkwood Woman's Credit Card

The woman reported nine separate charges on her account in the month of January.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Saturday, Jan. 26: At 1:07 p.m. a resident from the 2300 block of Maybrook Lane contacted police to report credit card fraud. The resident said her credit union called her to report suspicious activity on her account. Theft Tops Recent Kirkwood Police Calls

The Kirkwood Police Department reports thieves target businesses, a school and are stopped in their tracks during a break-in at a home.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Tuesday, Jan. 22: At 10:34 a.m. officers were called to a school in the 1300 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of a burglary. A teacher told police a someone broke into a classroom and stole a flat screen TV. Police said entry was gained into the classroom through an unlocked window. Thursday, Jan. 24: At 7:50 p.m. a resident from the 300 block of Attucks Street said someone had just broken into the home, but left when confronted by the homeowner. Detectives are investigating. Des Peres police sent out an alert to residents Tuesday reminding them to lock all doors to help prevent falling victim to thefts and burglaries. Police point out that they have not had a rash of recent activity to prompt the warning, but there have been reports of car thefts and damage in nearby cities. Police are asking residents to lock all car and home doors, including garage doors. Following is the email alert sent out by police Tuesday.
