Darnel Frost and Marie Kelly were elected to the Kirkwood School Board Tuesday.
Darnel Frost and Marie Kelly will join the Kirkwood Board of Education as the candidates received a decided margin of votes Tuesday in the race for two open seats. With 100 percent of votes counted, the results for the race are: Frost and Kelly were the first to file in the race for the Kirkwood School Board. Representatives from the League of Women Voters will moderate the candidate forum.
Five candidates have filed for two open seats on the Kirkwood School Board, and all five will have a chance to face off against each other to explain their positions in a candidate forum scheduled for Monday evening. Representatives from the League of Women Voters will moderate the panel, which will be at the North Kirkwood Middle School library, 11287 Manchester Road, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Two positions on the Kirkwood School Board will be decided in the April 2 municipal election. Filing for April’s elections started on Tuesday at 8 a.m. Two school board seats are up for grabs.
Two residents, Marie Kelly and Darnel Frost, have filed for two open positions on the Kirkwood School Board. Candidate filing opened on December 11 and filings will be accepted through Monday, January 14, 2013 from 7:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The closing date for filing is Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. If more than two candidates file for the board positions, an election will be held April 2, 2013.
