Student Struck by Car OK After Trip to Hospital

A car hit a student outside North Glendale Elementary School after he was dropped off Wednesday morning.

A student at North Glendale Elementary School is OK after being struck by a car outside the school Wednesday morning. The accident occurred after a male student was dropped off by his mother around 8:30 a.m., according to Glendale Police Sgt. Bob Catlett. The boy ran in front of his mother's car and into the path of a car just leaving the stop sign in front of the school, Catlett says. Emergency personnel and police were called, and an ambulance took the student the hospital, according to Ginger Cayce, a spokesperson for the Kirkwood School District. The student returned to school later Wednesday.
