Photos: Kirkwood Homes Preserve History

The Kirkwood Landmarks Commission has recognized more than 20 properties that preserve the city's architectural character as part of Kirkwood's 14th Annual Favorite Building Awards.

Whether its restoring a residence, updating a business landmark or renovating a home to maintain the aesthetic of a historic district, building preservation is alive and well in Kirkwood. The Kirkwood Landmarks Commission has recognized a mix of 23 residential and commercial properties for preserving the city's architectural character for Kirkwood's 14th Annual Favorite Building Awards. The commission will present the honors May 9 at the Kirkwood Train Station. Buildings were nominated by residents and selected by the Kirkwood Landmarks Commission.
