Des Peres police are reminding residents to lock all doors to avoid falling victim to thefts and burglaries.

Des Peres police sent out an alert to residents Tuesday reminding them to lock all doors to help prevent falling victim to thefts and burglaries. Police point out that they have not had a rash of recent activity to prompt the warning, but there have been reports of car thefts and damage in nearby cities. Police are asking residents to lock all car and home doors, including garage doors. Following is the email alert sent out by police Tuesday. Surrounding Area Crime Report / City of Des Peres We have been fortunate enough to have very little to report in regards to Neighborhood and Business problems in the City of Des Peres over the holidays. But sometimes buyer’s expectations are too high.  The saying, "You have champagne taste on a beer budget,” can be applicable for a lot of buyers in today’s market. Everyone wants a $500K home for $250K and that’s simply not possible. Before you buy, you should review the following data:  These criteria encompass a properly priced home. Often a property may already be appropriately priced. If, however, after reviewing data in the above categories, you find the listing to be overpriced, then your offer should support the price that makes sense based on the data. …

Curbow Appeal: Perspectives From a Real Estate Insider

How Bad Is the Distressed Real Estate Market?

Short sales, foreclosures and motivated sellers dominate the current market.

For the most part, the real estate markets of Kirkwood and Webster Groves have held their value. The distressed market encompasses about one-third of the business selling on a national level. Comparatively, our areas represent a small amount of distressed sales, which is seen more in other …
