Jilly's Makes Top 50 Cupcakes in US List

Jilly's French Silk cupcake was named one of the best in the country.

The Daily Meal has named its top 50 cupcakes in the United States and Jilly's Cupcake Bar's French Silk cupcake made the cut. The site evaluated the must-have cupcake at the bakeries. The bakeries were judged on menu, cupcake design and frosting to cake ratio. Each category was scored on a 1-10 basis.  Jilly's received a 9 for both menu and design, but only a 5 rating in the frosting-to-cake category. Other notable bakeries on the list include Georgetown Cupcake, which is featured in the TLC show D.C. Cupcakes; Sprinkles Cupcakes in Los Angeles, which boasts that it is the world's first cupcake bakery and Magnolia Bakery in New York. See more on Patch:

Cocktails to Come to Jilly's in Des Peres

The city's board of aldermen approved an alcohol permit for the Jilly's Cupcake Bar a Go-Go.

Patrons of Jilly's Cupcake Bar a Go-Go will soon see beer, wine and cocktails on the eatery's menu. The Des Peres Board of Aldermen approved Jilly's request to serve alcohol at Jilly's Cupcake Baer a Go-Go Monday, the Webster-Kirkwood Times reports. Jilly's Cupcake Bar a-Go-Go Looks to Serve Alcohol

The Des Peres eatery is asking the city for an amended conditional use permit to serve alcoholic drinks.

Alcoholic beverages may appear on Des Peres' Jilly's Cupcake Bar a-Go-Go menu in the near future. Jilly's, the immensely popular cupcake bar which has seen success with its Des Peres expansion, has applied for an amended conditional use permit to allow for the sale of alcoholic beverages by the drink in the restaurant at 1131 Colonade Center, according to the City of Des Peres' website. A public hearing for the permit is set for Dec. 10. Jilly's Cupcake Bar Receives Warm Welcome in Des Peres

The popular, hip Delmar Ave. cupcake bar, Jilly's, is now satisfying all your cupcake needs in Des Peres.

How does a quiet engineering office near the Des Peres post office become the most happening place in town? If you’re David Pollmann, a consulting engineer, you empty out your office furniture, tear down the walls and build Jilly’s Cupcake Bar a-Go-Go. Pollmann’s primary clients in his engineering firm are restaurants. “I design about 150 restaurants a year. I designed Jilly’s original mechanical systems,” Pollman said.  The original Jilly’s is located at Delmar Boulevard and Interstate 170.
