Former UMSL Vice Chancellor Sues University of Missouri for Negligence

Reinhard Schuster also alleges intentional infliction of emotional distress by UMSL that has led to multiple nervous breakdowns since a 2005 age discrimination suit against UMSL baseball coach Jim Brady.

Former University of Missouri at St. Louis (UMSL) Vice Chancellor of Administrative Services Reinhard Schuster filed suit against the Curators of the University of Missouri Nov. 22 in St. Louis County alleging negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and wrongful and constructive discharge. Schuster was ordered to pay punitive damages to UMSL baseball coach Jim Brady totaling $200,000 as part of a $1.8 million award made to Brady during an age discrimination suit that cost taxpayers more than $2 million and which was in litigation from 1998 to 2006.
