Kirkwood police received additional reports from residents who fell victim to fraud after their credit and debit cards were used following the Schnucks security breach.

Between May 6 and May 12, Kirkwood Police said they received an additional three reports of identity-theft related to the Schnucks grocery chain credit and debit card security breach. This takes the total reports made by residents to at least 84, according to police. As previously reported by Patch, Kirkwood police had already taken more than 80 reports from residents who fell victim to fraud from the breach. The Kirkwood Police department reports 300 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs were collected during the national drug take-back day.

April 27: Kirkwood police assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) with their bi-annual medication disposal at the Kirkwood Police Department. This year Kirkwood Police Department turned over approximately 300 pounds of unused or expired medication for proper disposal to the DEA.

Kirkwood police say even more reports are being filed by victims of fraud in connection to the Schnucks security breach.

Between April 22 and April 28, Kirkwood Police took an additional eleven reports of identity-theft related to the Schnucks credit and debit card security breach. This takes the total reports made by residents to more than 75, according to police. Remember, any business where we use our credit cards runs the risk of their information being hacked and customers being inconvenienced.
