St. Louis Community College Apologizes for Handling of Attack on Meramec Campus

Reports said the St. Louis Community College-Meramec chancellor apologized for the school's communication involving a student attack last week.

St. Louis Community College-Meramec Chancellor Myrtle Dorsey is apologizing for the school's communication regarding a student attack last week, according to a report from FOX2. The report said administration at the Kirkwood campus admitted they should have alerted students better about the situation in a press conference Friday. Traffic Stop, Shoplifting Leads to Drug Arrests

A suspected shoplifting arrest and a traffic stop land at two people in jail after Kirkwood police said they found drugs.

An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  April 18: At 11:06 p.m., officers stopped a motorist for a traffic violation near the intersection of Big Bend and South Kirkwood roads. The adult driver was arrested after a routine record check revealed outstanding warrants through the Kirkwood Police Department as well as a neighboring police agency. Kirkwood police report the number of residents who fell victim to the Schnucks security breach continues to rise. Reports continue coming in.

An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Monday, April 15 - Sunday, April 21- Kirkwood Police took an additional sixteen reports of identity-theft related to the Schnucks grocery chain credit and debit card security breach.  All of the incidents involved the victim’s credit card accounts being used in other states for purchases of various amounts.  As previously reported by Patch, Kirkwood police had already taken almost 50 reports from residents who have fallen victim to fraud from the breach. Student at Nipher Middle Taken Into Custody for Gun Threats

Kirkwood Police Department said the student made threats toward others and the school in general.

The Kirkwood Police Department shared in a release Wednesday evening that a student at Nipher Middle School in the Kirkwood School District had been taken into custody after the juvenile made threats of gun violence to two other students and school-wide. Police said the threats were verbal and reported by two students who alarmed officials. The school's resource officer did not discover any evidence of acting on the threats, and the student's family said the student would not have access to any type of gun. Kirkwood Police added in their statement that the student had been removed from the campus and taken to the St. Louis Family Courts juvenile detention facility. Family Courts will be handling the case.

Kirkwood Police Advise Residents on Schnucks Security Breach

After receiving at least 65 reports of identity theft related to the Schnucks security breach, Kirkwood police are telling residents this is what they need to do if they find charges on their debit or credit cards.

As previously reported by Patch, Kirkwood police have received numerous reports from residents who have felt the fallout from the Schnucks security breach by finding fraudulent charges on their debit and credit cards.  The reports continue to come in to police, even now, so Kirkwood police issued the following statement to residents on how to handle the situation if they find they've fallen victim to the fraud. Kirkwood Police Investigating Recent Thefts, Including Stolen Car

The Kirkwood Police Department is investigating after thieves target cars in recent crime reports.

Kirkwood Police See More Fallout From Schnucks Debit, Credit Card Fraud

Kirkwood police received another 19 reports from residents who experienced identity theft , likely as a result of the Schnucks security breach. This is in addition to the 30 incidents previously reported by Patch.

An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  April 8 - April 14: Kirkwood police said they took took an additional nineteen reports of identity-theft during this time frame that were related to the Schnucks grocery chain credit and debit card security breach. Kirkwood Residents Fall Victim to Tax Fraud

The Kirkwood police department was contacted by residents who say they got an unpleasant surprise when they filed their tax returns this month.

An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  April 11: At 6:06 p.m., identity theft was reported by a resident in the 800 block of Brookcreek Lane. The resident said someone filed an income tax return under the resident’s social security number. April 10: At 4:31 p.m., police took a report of identity theft from a victim who resides in the 700 block of Lockett Lane. The resident said when she attempted to file this year's tax return at a local tax office, it was determined her social security number was already used to file a return. $30K in Jewelry Reportedly Stolen From Kirkwood Home

Police are investigating a report of approximately $30,000 in stolen jewelry, plus electronics are stolen after a window is forced open on another home.
