Kirkwood Library Website Gets Makeover

Here's how a revamp will make it easier for residents to connect with the community resource.

Kirkwoodpubliclibrary.org is getting a makeover. The revamped website will make it easier to connect with the library. On every page we will have our slideshow of upcoming events with small thumbnails showing the image and information for each slide. On each page we will also have links to our catalog, Facebook page, Twitter, Overdrive, Zinio, blogs, and summer reading logs. These changes will make it easy to get to those pages used most often. Our calendar of events will be completely new. Events that require sign up will now have a hyperlink placed directly into the details of the event and you will be able to add events to your own Google calendar. Tax Forms Available at the Library

Tax forms and booklets are available at Kirkwood Public Library.

For those of us who haven’t started our taxes yet the April 15th deadline for filing federal tax returns is fast approaching. Still need to get tax forms?  There are many available at the Kirkwood Public Library located near the reference desk and a selection of information booklets. We also have access to a number of tax forms online from www.irs.gov. Already have your forms, but need some resources: Available in the reference section: J.K. Borrow E-Books from the Library!

Read an E-Book Week is celebrated from March 3-9. Check out e-books for free through Kirkwood Public Library's Overdrive service.

As we celebrate READ AN E-BOOK WEEK from March 3-9th of 2013, I would like to remind everyone of a great service Kirkwood Public Library and the other members of the Municipal Library Consortium have to offer called Overdrive. Through Overdrive you can check out e-books for free using your valid library card. Books are available in several formats for the Kindle, Nook, smartphones, tablets, and other e-reader devices. You can also download audio books. Check out the free Overdrive Media Console App on your store supported devices or come into the library for set up and demonstration of Overdrive. Remembering Stan 'the Man' Musial Through Books

Check out books about the late baseball player Stan Musial.

Baseball Hall of Famer and St. Louis Walk of Famer, Stan Musial, died Saturday January 19th of natural causes at his home in Ladue. He was 92 years old.  Musial played 22 seasons with our home team the St. Louis Cardinals. He is a baseball legend, 3 time World Series Champion, and is immortalized in two separate statues at Busch Stadium. Get 75 publications including Rolling Stone, Artnews, Martha Stewart Living, Men’s Health and Family Circle on your smartphone or tablet for free.

Need more stuff to download to your computer, tablet, or smartphone? The Kirkwood Public Library can help you. In addition to Overdrive for audiobooks and ebooks, we have a new subscription to a site called Zinio. This web service allows you to download magazines for free to various devices. You will need your library card to get started, and we have a guide available to help you through the set up process.
