Groups from around the St. Louis area have submitted information about their fish frys. Use this map to find one near you. It's not too late to add another fish fry to the map.

Lent starts Wednesday and runs through March 30. Between now and then, we want to help you find your way to the nearest fish fry in the St. Louis area. Use the map above and click on any of the red markers. A window will pop up with details about that fish fry, supplied by the organizers of the event. A quick and easy shrimp scampi made at home is a great alternative to another fish fry.

Halfway to Easter - tired of Friday night fish fry yet? Don’t get me wrong, I love a good fish fry. Kirkwood and Webster Groves have lots of fish fry options: St. Peter, Mary Queen of Peace and St. Gerard Majella – winner of fridaynightfish.com 2010 fan poll. Sometimes, however, it’s nice to skip the fried cod, baked salmon or tuna noodle casserole and make a simple, delicious Lenten dinner at home. My husband’s favorite is Shrimp Scampi. Yes, you can make shrimp scampi at home. No, you don’t need those little metal pans from which scampi is served at places like Red Lobster. This simple dish will please your whole family, except the ones that are dieting because this isn't a low calorie meal. I’m no dietitian, but my guess is this isn’t …
