Fox 2 Video: Glendale Mom, Children Laid to Rest

The funeral for Catherine Murch and her two children was held Saturday at Cathedral Basilica. Our partners at Fox 2 were there and have this update.

A Glendale mom and her two children were laid to rest Saturday. The three were found shot to death at their home at 740 Hawbrook on Monday morning. The funeral for Catherine Murch and her children, Mary Claire and Mitchell III, ages 8 and 10 respectively, was held Saturday at Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis and the burials took place at St. Peter's Cemetery in Kirkwood. Authorities confirmed on Friday that the shooting deaths were murder-suicide, based on physical and circumstantial evidence. They say Catherine took the lives of her children and then turned the gun on herself. Our partners at Fox 2 were on the scene Saturday as the three caskets were carried out of the church. Police Believe Glendale Shooting Deaths Were Murder-Suicide

Catherine Murch shot her two children and then turned the gun on herself at their Glendale home on Monday, investigators said at a news conference this afternoon.

Major Case Squad investigators have confirmed they believe the Glendale shootings on Monday were a murder-suicide, based on physical and circumstantial evidence. Catherine Murch and her children — Mary Claire and Mitchell III, ages 8 and 10 respectively — were found shot to death in the home at 740 Hawbrook Monday morning. "Catherine took the lives of her children and then turned the gun on herself," said Lt. Tim Fagan, of the Major Case Squad, at a 4:30 p.m. news conference Friday. The news comes the day before the funeral of Catherine and her children. Funeral for Glendale Shooting Victims Set for Saturday

The funeral for Catherine Murch and her two children will be held at Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, followed by the burials at St. Peter's Cemetery in Kirkwood.

Family, friends and the Mary Queen of Peace community are invited to attend the funeral and burial of Catherine Murch and her two children who died Monday in their Glendale home. The wake, however, is by invitation only. The funeral is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. at Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, which is located at 4431 Lindell Blvd. Following the funeral, the burials will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery at 20 W. Monroe Ave. in Kirkwood. Authorities are still trying to piece together the details on on what happened at the Glendale home. UPDATE: Funeral Details for Glendale Shooting Victims Announced

The Archdiocese of St. Louis released a statement Tuesday that the arrangements would not be disclosed. However, the family members' obituaries are in today's "St. Louis Post-Dispatch."

Updated at 4 p.m., Aug. 2 The Archdiocese of St. Louis has announced that family, friends and the Mary Queen of Peace community are invited to attend the funeral at the Cathedral Basilica at 10 a.m. on Saturday and the Christian burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Kirkwood. However, the wake is by invitation only. Updated at 11 a.m, Aug 2: On Wednesday, the Archdiocese of St. Louis posted a news release on its website stating that funeral arrangements for a Glendale mother and her two children who died in a shooting on Monday would not be disclosed publicly. Husband Not Considered Suspect in Glendale Shootings, Police Say

The Major Case Squad is still investigating the circumstances of the deaths of a mom and her two children in their home Monday. Officials released little new information at a 5 p.m. news conference.

Glendale police and officials with the Major Case Squad released very little new information during a 5 p.m. news conference on the shooting deaths of a mom and her two children on Monday.  Catherine Murch and her children Mary Claire and Mitchell III, ages 8 and 10 respectively, were found shot to death in their home at 740 Hawbrook Tuesday around 11 a.m. Mitchell Murch, II, (the husband and father of the deceased) was in the home on the first floor when it happened. Glendale Police Chief Jeffrey Beaton confirmed that Murch made two 911 calls on Monday morning - one to report that he heard shots fired and another to report a murder-suicide - that his wife had shot his children.
