Runners Make 'Mad Dash' for St. Peter's

Residents young and old turned out for the second annual St. Peter DASH 5K and Kids Fun Run last weekend.

With the high reaching 97 degrees Saturday, runners geared up for St. Peter DASH 5K and Kids Fun Run early in the morning. From babies to adults, participants gathered at the starting line to support St. Peter's Catholic School. "I support my parish and my friends who put together this wonderful race together, because this is one of the best races in St. Louis," said Stacey Kane, first place winner of the woman's division. For 23 years, Kane has been running and training for marathons. "I didn't (train). My regular base running helped," she said. "I run between 30 to 40 miles a week." Her base running has helped her win first place in the woman's division two years in a row. As long as Kane is a part of St. Peter's Parish, she will …
