Star Wars resources at the Kirkwood Public Library.
Many of you many have heard that the Lucas Arts (famous for the Star Wars franchise) was purchased by Disney. The probably leads to the immediate question: WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE JEDIS? The library can’t answer that question for you. What we can do is tell you what HAS happened to the Jedis in the past (perhaps even a long time ago in a galaxy far far away). With Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm comes an announcement of Star Wars: Episode VII, with an expected release in 2015.
It's a question nearly as old as the sci-fi genre: Should there be another Star Wars film? Well, folks, Star Wars: Episode VII is reportedly on the way. Disney announced its purchase of Lucasfilm on Tuesday, and pegged a 2015 release for the new film. More movies are expected to follow. Forbes reported that the deal includes $4.05 billion in cash and stock. Does that mean we'll see Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Chewbacca on the big screen again, or do you think Disney will take a different approach to the new Star Wars movies?
