Kirkwood Subdivision Targeted by Thieves

Kirkwood police report a number of thefts from cars that were all parked in one neighborhood.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  March 26: Police received seven reports of vehicle break-ins on Cedarbrook, Thorncliff, and Briargate lanes in the Osage Hills Subdivision. The calls started coming in just after 8 a.m. Police said all of the cars were unlocked when the items, including credit cards, two purses, identification and change, were stolen. March 29: At 1:11 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of East Washington Avenue for a report of theft and property damage. The victim said a window was broken out of her car, then her purse containing cash and credit cards was stolen from her car. Police said purchases were made with the stolen cards in …

Police Warn of Thefts From Vehicles in Des Peres

The City of Des Peres issued the following advisory following two vehicle break-ins and reports of thefts.

The following information was provided by the City of Des Peres Department of Public Safety. Incidents occurred Sunday.  A wallet was reported as missing from a motor vehicle in the 11000 block of Middleview Drive. Miscellaneous U.S. currency and credit cards were listed missing along with the wallet. At the time of occurrence the vehicle was believed to have been left unlocked, with the windows down, and the wallet in plain sight.  Several items were reported missing from a vehicle at a business in the 12400 block of Manchester Road. The victim stated she returned from shopping to find that her door lock had been damaged by an unknown means and items were removed. POLICE: 2 Home Burglaries, $20K in Jewelry Reported Stolen in Kirkwood

Flat screen TVs and thousands in jewelry were reported stolen from Kirkwood homes.

Police responded to three reports of thefts from Kirkwood homes or buildings last week, two of which were burglaries. The incidents involved items that ranged from next to no value to those worth thousands of dollars. The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. POLICE: Thieves Hit 40 Vehicles in 1 Night

Glendale police are investigating more than 30 thefts after a rash of vehicle break-ins.

Glendale police are investigating more than 30 thefts after a rash of break-ins last week in which thieves targeted 40 unlocked vehicles. At 4:15 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to reports of thefts that occurred Wednesday night. Thieves struck vehicles in the following areas: Credit cards, electronics, wallets, loose change and a musical instrument were stolen from vehicles parked in front of residents’ homes or in their driveways, police say.  Some of the items were recovered near the scene of the thefts. Police are attempting to locate other missing items.

Arrested: Man Wanted for Numerous County Thefts

The man wanted in connection to more than 50 thefts across St. Louis County was arrested Thursday after being spotted in a car stolen from Kirkwood. Police say heroin was behind the alleged crime spree.

The following information was supplied by the Town and Country Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. Jeremy Burkhalter, wanted in connection to numerous thefts in Town and Country and for felony stealing in St. Louis County, including Kirkwood, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. Thursday after being spotted in a car stolen from Kirkwood. Town and Country police said officers took Burkhalter, suspected of more than 50 crimes, including car thefts, across the St. Louis area, into custody after a foot pursuit on Turnberry Park Lane near Clayton and Ballas roads in Town and Country. Police Issue Alert After String of Vehicle Break-ins

Police are reporting an increase of thefts from vehicles in Kirkwood and surrounding municipalities and advise residents to take precautions.

The Kirkwood Police Department is warning residents to take precautions following a string of vehicle break-ins last week, in which suspects broke into nine unlocked vehicles in the course of two days. Police began responding to the break-ins Wednesday morning after a resident from the 400 block of Greenleaf Drive reported a theft from his vehicle. When officers investigated the incident, they discovered four additional vehicle break-ins, three on Greenleaf Drive and one in the 600 block of North Woodlawn Avenue. Suspects stole electronics, two backpacks and shoes. My locked vehicle was broken into last evening (still daylight outside)June 26th at the Webster Groves track and field while I walked on the track. My car was parked middle of the lot facing the track. The thieves punched out my back passenger window and stole my purse which was hidden out of sight under my seat.
