Buy an entree, get another for free—if you kiss someone in line.
Customers at the Kirkwood Qdoba and Des Peres Qdoba can get free food on Tuesday, if they don't mind a little PDA. The nationwide chain is bringing back a Valentine's Day promotion that, according to spokeswoman Ashley Cohen, tens of thousands of customers took advantage of in 2011. Anyone who buys an entree can get another for free—once they kiss a fellow customer at the cash register. It doesn't matter (to Qdoba) who it is. No coupon is necessary for the nationwide promotion. The Qdoba restaurants in Kirkwood and Des Peres are open normal hours, from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Valentine's Day. Kirkwood Patch Editor Owen Skoler contributed to this report.

I fondly remember the original one on Demun. Had the cool Marantz (or was it Mcintosh?) stereo system on the steps leading downstairs to the Rathskeller. The basement Cyranos was the best place to go on a date. I believe it later briefly moved into the Shakey's Pizza on Big Bend, then many years later reopened in Webster...Nothing like splitting a Cleopatra on a date there!   more ›
