Holiday shoppers get ready! The holiday shopping season is getting underway. Walmart is beginning its Black Friday deals at its earliest time ever this year. St. Louis area stores will be open all day on Thursday and will begin running "Black Friday" sales at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. As the world’s largest retailer prepares for one of the most popular shopping days of the year, Patch got a sneak peak at some of the deals the store will offer shoppers, including the Kirkwood Walmart. A Louisiana-based dental company has selected the Kirkwood Wal-Mart as its newest location.
The expansion of the Kirkwood Wal-Mart into a Supercenter will include the addition of a Sensible Dental office, according to the St. Louis Business Journal. The Kirkwood location will be the company's third office in the country. The two existing offices are located in Walmart Supercenters, one in Louisiana and one in Alabama. "Our convenient location inside Walmart allows you to save time by not making extra trips out of the way for your dental visit," the company says on its website. With work on the Kirkwood Wal-Mart parking lot complete, the store is ready to handle the rush of holiday shoppers.
Registers at the Kirkwood Wal-Mart are expected to ring 9,000 times in the 24-hour period known as Black Friday. That's twice the transactions on a normal shopping day and store manager Chet Chapman is ready for the rush. "Everybody is onboard for these big events with a 24-hour rotation of employees," he said. Black Friday, while typically starting on the Friday after Thanksgiving, kicks off at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Kirkwood Wal-Mart with top toys and home apparel going on sale.
