A man faces criminal charges in a Sept. 7 burglary in the 2000 block of McReady Avenue in Maplewood. Corey Buie, 34, of the 1200 block of Rockbridge Place in Kirkwood, was charged with first-degree burglary and stealing. Maplewood Police said Buie stole $480 from the home on McReady. Buie told the victim’s son he was in the home, but he was trying to chase the burglar out. The victim told police Buie participated in the burglary. Bond was set at $50,000, cash only. Buie also was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

A St. Louis man faces charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action after reportedly attacking a man with a sword in Kirkwood Thursday night.
The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action against William Earnhart, 46, of the 5700 block of Sulfur Avenue in St. Louis, Friday afternoon. At approximately 10 p.m. Thursday, Kirkwood police were dispatched to the 500 block of Coverdale Lane in Kirkwood for a report of an injured man in the area. Investigation revealed that the above suspect had assaulted the victim with a sword causing a serious injury to the victim’s arm. The victim was admitted to an area hospital for treatment. Earnhart is being held on $100,000 bond.

St. Louis County Court records show Dale Kawamura was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Assault in connection with the Olive Boulevard crash that killed Clayton Pfeiffer.
Patch has confirmed that prosecutors have charged Dale Kawamura, 36, of Oakland, CA, in connection with the February 2012 crash on Olive Boulevard near Creve Coeur Mill Road which claimed the life of 2011 Vianney graduate Clayton Pfeiffer. (Sign up for the Kirkwood Patch newsletter for breaking news alerts.) Kawamura has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and assault. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Chesterfield police said Kawamura was driving with meth in his system. Police said Kawamura's vehicle was heading eastbound on Olive and struck Pfeiffer's vehicle and another. According to court records, the charges were filed June 13.
