The Glendale Police blotter for Jan. 27 to Feb. 2. The following information was provided by the Glendale Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.  Jan. 27:  A wallet was returned to its rightful owner afer a resident of the 100 block of Parkland Avenue found the wallet while walking in the 100 block of Trevillian.  Jan. 28:  At 9:01 a.m., warrants were issued by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charging Jeffrey S. Kelly, 30, of the 9100 block of Lemona, Affton, Missouri, with Felony Driving While Intoxicated – Aggravated Offender and Driving While Suspended or Revoked, after his arrest on June 9, 2012 in the 700 block of Bismark Avenue.  Bond was set at $30,000. Man Who Sped By Squad Car Faces Fourth Drunk Driving Charge, Police Say

Glendale police said the man's driver's license was revoked and he passed officers doing 20 mph over the speed limit.

The following information was supplied by court documents. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. An Affton man who drove by a police car while doing 50 mph in a 30 mph zone now faces criminal charges, Glendale police said. Jeffrey S. Kelly, 30, of the 9100 block of Lemona Drive in Affton, was charged Jan. 28 with DWI as an aggravated offender and driving while revoked. Kelly has three previous alcohol-related driving convictions, and his driver’s license had been revoked. Glendale police said Kelly passed a patrol car while speeding in the 700 block of Bismark Avenue. After pulling Kelly over, the officer said he smelled a strong odor of alcohol and noticed Kelly’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. Kelly admitted …

Man Slammed Girlfriend's Head on Counter, Police Say

The man pleaded guilty last January to assaulting another woman in 2010.

A man slammed his girlfriend’s head on a kitchen counter and then prevented her from leaving to seek help, Glendale Police said. William Greggory Buffington, 47, of the 2300 block of Pheasant Run Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged with third-degree domestic assault and false imprisonment last week. Glendale Police said Buffington injured his girlfriend April 27 in the 800 block of Queen Anne Place in Glendale, and then restrained her from leaving. Buffington pleaded guilty on Jan. 30 to assaulting a different woman in November 2010. Bail was set at $10,000, cash only. Police: Couple Stole Items Worth $20K in Glendale, Crestwood

The man faces criminal charges in Ladue for stealing jewelry and silver worth $200,000.

A man charged with stealing jewelry valued at more than $200,000 in Ladue also faces stealing related charges in Glendale and Crestwood. His girlfriend also is charged with stealing. Justin Roux, 22, of the 200 block of Clayton Oaks Drive in Ellisville, was charged Sept. 7 with stealing in Glendale and Sept. 10 with receiving stolen property in Crestwood. Glendale Police said Roux stole two gold necklaces, a pair of gold and diamond earrings, and a silver ring with an aquamarine dome with a total value of $5,000. Roux moved a TV stand from the mother's house to the home where the items were stolen, according to a police report. Police said Roux became a suspect because of similar thefts in Ladue, where Roux also faces four counts of felony…

Glendale Police, Fire Join County Radio System

With new equipment given by St. Louis County, Glendale and other municipalities will be able to better coordinate in times of emergency.

Monday night, the Glendale Board of Aldermen unanimously approved an ordinance that will upgrade the city’s police and fire radio system, allowing them to join a county-wide program to improve emergency communications. The upgrade will come at no initial cost for the city of Glendale. The process to get all municipalities to share an interoperable radio system began in November of 2009, when St. Louis County voters passed Proposition E-911, which allowed the issuing of bonds for the county to fund the replacement of police, fire and emergency medical service agency radio systems with a countywide interoperable radio system for all public safety agencies. “Interoperability has been a longstanding goal in the field of public safety, …

Glendale Police Chief Jeffrey Beaton and Lieutenant Timothy Fagan, Deputy Commander of the Major Case Squad, announced a press conference this afternoon with more details about the death of Glendale residents Catherine Murch and her two children, May Claire and Mitchell III, ages 8 and 10 respectively, The mom and her children were found shot to death in their home at 740 Hawbrook on July 30 at around 11 a.m. Earlier, police reported Mitchell Murch, II, (the husband and father of the deceased) was in the home on the first floor when it happened. Husband Not Considered Suspect in Glendale Shootings, Police Say

The Major Case Squad is still investigating the circumstances of the deaths of a mom and her two children in their home Monday. Officials released little new information at a 5 p.m. news conference.

Glendale police and officials with the Major Case Squad released very little new information during a 5 p.m. news conference on the shooting deaths of a mom and her two children on Monday.  Catherine Murch and her children Mary Claire and Mitchell III, ages 8 and 10 respectively, were found shot to death in their home at 740 Hawbrook Tuesday around 11 a.m. Mitchell Murch, II, (the husband and father of the deceased) was in the home on the first floor when it happened. Glendale Police Chief Jeffrey Beaton confirmed that Murch made two 911 calls on Monday morning - one to report that he heard shots fired and another to report a murder-suicide - that his wife had shot his children. Glendale Mother Was a Nurse at Local Health Care Provider

Information from her LinkedIn page describes Cathy Murch of Glendale as an active community woman; she died with her children in what's been described as a murder-suicide.

The Glendale woman who died of gunshots with her 8-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son was a registered nurse in the communty who worked for a local health care provider as treatment educator. Catherine Murch, 42, was found shot in her home in the 700 block of Hawbrook Ave. in Glendale Monday morning. Her husband had called 911 shortly before 11 a.m. When police arrived, they found Catherine Murch and her two children, Mitchell III and Mary Claire, also shot. Media reports said the father, Mitchell II, was performing CPR on his son, while his wife was found dead in the kitchen, and his daughter was found dead upstairs. It appears we are not being told the entire story. For a major depressant to kill both herself AND others is virtually unheard of. Either her illness isn't being fully disclosed (schizophrenia?) or maybe she felt there was no way for she and her kids to emerge from a hopeless situation of which we're unaware?
