During the next three years, 25 of these immense locomotives were constructed, and they were the ...largest successful conventional type steam locomotives ever built. At more than 130 feet in length, and over 16 – ½ feet in height, and along with the tender weighed in at 600 tons, and developing no less than 7,000 hp, the “Big Boy” was an…

The question came to mind the other day during a drive down Peeke Avenue. Seeing this backhoe atop a dirt pile, I was reminded of one of my favorite books, Are You My Mother? This backhoe, or what author and illustrator P. D. Eastman would call a "snort," is helping in the the construction of a custom built home at 135 Peeke Ave. The home is estimated to be completed in May and will be priced at $625,000, according to custom home builders Kingbridge Homes. Have you taken any fun shots around our beautiful city? Upload them here.
