String of Car Break-Ins Sparks Warning from Cops

Des Peres police say the break-ins overnight were in the area around Bopp Road.

Des Peres law enforcement officials are warning residents about a string of break-ins to cars overnight in which "miscelleneous items" were taken from several unlocked vehicles.

Officials were not specific in their alert about how many cars were broken into or or what was taken. Patch will follow up for more information. Officials did warn residents "to make sure all of your vehicles, residences, and garages are secured before retiring for the evening."

Several incidents occurred during the overnight hours where miscellaneous items were removed from several unlocked vehicles in the area surrounding Bopp Rd. In a few of these instances garage openers located inside those vehicles were used to obtain access to the corresponding residences. Several items located in those residences were also reported as missing. The Des Peres Detective Bureau is actively working these cases along with other surrounding departments having similar incidents.
