State Football Championship Prompts Community Celebration

Kirkwood High School will hold a community event at Station Plaza Saturday to celebrate the Pioneers' first state football championship. The celebration will include the KHS band, cheerleaders, football team and notable speakers.

To celebrate the Kirkwood High School football team's historic state championship win over Fort Osage High School Nov. 23, Kirkwood High School is organizing a community celebration on Saturday.

2 pm: KHS football team arrives at KHS Essex Parking Lot (801 W. Essex), and will board two busses and depart to downtown Kirkwood.

2:15 pm: KHS football team will stop at Mike Duffy’s (124 W. Jefferson) for pictures

2:30 pm: KHS Band, cheerleaders, and poms begin playing at Station Plaza (intersection of Kirkwood Road and E. Madison Ave.)

2:30-2:45 pm: KHS football Team arrives at Station Plaza

2:45-3:30: STATE CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION

3:30 pm: Football team returns to KHS

In case of inclement weather, the celebration will be moved to 4 p.m. and be held in David Holley Assembly Hall, 801 W. Essex.
